The Chardonnay displays alluring aromas of fresh lemon, lime and apple blossom on the nose. The palate reveals a wonderful minerality, with layers of complexity enhanced by subtle nuances of wood. Beautifully balanced with a long, clean finish this wine drinks exceptionally well now but has great maturation potential.
A celebration of power, elegance and finesse. This multi-faceted Viognier displays fresh apricots, peaches and apples both on the nose and palate. The rich, full entry with hints of wooding, imparted from 8 months in Romanian oak, combined with lime and citrus freshness provide a satisfying grip and rich lingering aftertaste.
Clear, bright pink colour. Nose is clean and fresh with forthcoming fruit with a multi layered complexity of strawberries and red berries. Smooth entry with firm, crisp acidity, ripe fruit flavours with beautiful follow through. Great balance between acidity and fruit and natural sugar. Intricate complexity with a lingering aftertaste.
Deep plumb/ruby colour. Attractive bright raspberry primary fruit is backed by cassis and nutmeg spicy notes. A weighty palate is balanced by sound fruit derived structure finishing with typical elegance from this elevated cool climate site. This wine shows appropriate youthfulness now with balance and poise ensuring beneficial maturation in bottle.
Vibrant, youthful purple hues in the glass. The aromatic intensity of the nose evokes nuances of sweet cranberries and a liberal does of white pepper, so typical of cool climate Shiraz from the Rhone Valley. Medium bodied on the palate, this Shiraz is a marriage of sweet red fruit, blackberry fruit pastilles layered with white pepper and spice. The lingering finish shows good balance between dark fruit, spiciness and subtle oaking imparted from 12 months maturation in oak. This Shiraz has excellent maturation potential.
Vibrant, dark ruby in colour, this fruit driven, complex wine displays layers of dark berry fruit flavours and prominent cassis on the nose which follow through onto the palate with the additional intrigue of dark chocolate and spice. Seamless tannins supported by the fruit intensity have combined to create a wine that provides a satisfying and lingering mouth feel.
This Merlot displays delightful red berry fruits, cassis and violets on the nose with underlying mineral notes. The elegant, soft fruit follows onto the palate revealing luscious raspberries and cherries interlaced with a hint of chocolate. Well integrated tannins imparted from 16 months maturation in French oak barrels gives the wine a well balanced mouth feel and lingering finish. This wine will benefit from further bottle maturation.
Agama, named for the lizard, prevalent in the indigenous fynbos vegetation adjacent to the Merlot vineyards, is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.
Dark ruby red in colour. The nose conjures up aromas of cranberries, Christmas pudding and ripe plums. Intense berry notes are underpined by a subtle minerality with a hint of spicy cigar box. Elegant fruit combines well with the spicy toasty tannins imparted from maturation in French oak barrels lending a lovely weight on the mid palate and well balanced and lingering mouthfeel. This wine will benefit from further bottle maturation.
